In July of 1946 Rev. Carl Mau arrived from Philadelphia Seminary to begin work in this area. On April 7, 1947 ground was broken for the church, and the cornerstone was laid on Reformation Sunday, October 26, of that year. The first service was held the following Christmas Eve with 52 in attendance. March 21, 1948 marked the official organization of this congregation with 66 charter members. This congregation started in 1956 as a mission congregation of the LCMS. In 1964 the church plant was constructed, and in 1972 they started an internship program with Concordia Seminary. In 1976 the congregation voted to leave the LCMS and join the AELC. In 1977 the present sanctuary and office was constructed. In 1981, Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, an LCA congregation, voted to merge with Resurrection. The congregation is presently a memeber of two synods, the AELC and the LCA. ...
